This 1972 Corvette had one owner for over 30 years. It underwent a frame off restoration in the late 90's when the vehicle had 83768 miles on the odometer. The Ontario Orange car was never in an accident, features a 4 speed transmission, Saddle vinyl Interior, power windows, convertible top, power brakes, tilt-telescopic steering wheel, power steering, AM/FM pushbutton radio and performance axle ratio. In addition to the build sheet, much is known about the history of the car. The starter was replaced under warranty, the original mufflers were replaced in 1976 with glass packs because the former owners wife didn't think the car sounded like a Corvette with factory mufflers -- she also prefered the look of whitewall tires over the original white lettered (one of which is still serving as the spare), interior is original except for the drivers door panel, original bumpers and air cleaner cover rechromed, windshield and weatherstripping replaced at rebuild. When the engine was disassebled it was found that no boring was needed. The original transmission, water pump and tachometer were rebuilt. A fiberglass spring was subsituted for the original for improved ride quality. Several of the bars on the trunk rack were replaced with reproductions due to pitting. Other than normal service items, this is a very original numbers matching car. The car drives straight down the highway, stops good and is very reliable. I would not hesitate to drive this across the country! 92,562 miles. Colors from the owner. October 6, 2008. |
